We are looking for a support educator for Västby group home in Molkom.

The support educator will be a support in the quality work and holistic view around the care recipient. The goal is good living conditions for the care recipient in terms of participation and independence.

At Västby group home, five care recipients live with varying needs for support in their daily lives. In addition to the support educator, a number of support assistants work in a service that operates around the clock every day of the year. At Västby, we also provide housing support for care recipients living in their own homes. As a support educator, you will work day/evening and every other weekend. Night work may occur if the service has needs.

Responsibilities

In the role of support educator, you will work to support your colleagues in various communication methods and clarifying pedagogy based on the individual needs of the care recipient. You will work with implementation plans and social documentation according to applicable legislation as well as guidelines and instructions in our management system. Your work includes introducing new staff together with your colleagues, guiding, and being a good role model in the pedagogical work. As a support educator, you will teach and implement new pedagogical methods in the work group. You should be proactive in the pedagogical work at the workplace and support colleagues in social documentation and ensure that implementation plans are in place.

As a support educator, you contribute to ensuring that the care recipient has the opportunity to live as meaningful and independent a life as possible.

The support educator is also part of the daily work around the care recipient. This involves care interventions but also participating in various activities with the care recipients.

In Karlstad municipality, there is a network for support educators, supervisors, and business developers who meet to exchange experiences and learn from each other. In addition to our internal network, there is a network for support educators where students training to become support educators are also welcome.

Qualifications

For the role of support educator, we are looking for someone who has:

• Education as a support educator 200 YH.
• Work experience in LSS operations.
• Good computer skills and documentation experience.
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
• Good physical ability, as the care recipients have different needs for support and assistance in their daily lives.
• A driver's license is a requirement.

You are flexible, open, and see opportunities instead of obstacles.
